The AP Physics B Exam is approximately three hours long and has two parts — multiple choice questions and free response questions. Each section is worth 50% of the final exam grade.

The multiple choice section contains 70 questions and is 1 hour and 30 minutes long.

The free response section contains 6-7 questions and is also 1 hour and 30 minutes long. Questions in this section can include two or more topics from the Physics B learning objectives. Typically, one question will address laboratory-based experiences.
