Spring before starting an AP course

It’s time to start thinking about which AP courses grab your interest, and how they might start you on the right path to college and career success. Use this website to learn more about the AP Program, and discuss your plans with your parents, teachers, and AP coordinator.

Summer

Some AP teachers require you to complete work during the summer months to prepare for their courses. For example, AP English Literature and Composition might start you off with a reading list of great novels and plays. Make sure you complete these assignments so you're up to speed when the classes begin.

January

Talk to your AP teachers or AP coordinator about taking the AP Exams. Contact the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) coordinator at your school if you will need testing accommodations.

February 22, 2019

Students with disabilities must submit requests for testing accommodations by this date.

March 1, 2019

Homeschooled students and students whose schools don't offer AP must contact AP Services by this date for a list of local AP coordinators and schools where they could arrange to test. Please note that in 2019-20, coordinators need to order exams for all students by November 15, 2019. If you’re homeschooled or taking an exam at another school, you’ll need to plan ahead to make sure a coordinator can order your exam(s) by this deadline.

March 15, 2019

Homeschooled students and students whose schools do not offer AP must contact AP coordinators identified by AP Services by this date. Keep in mind that the deadline for 2019-20 AP Exams will be in the fall prior to the exam.
